Our fave The Office alum John Krasinski was just named PEOPLE‘s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024, but according to IRL Gossip Girl Deuxmoi, the supposed ultimate hottie wasn’t actually the magazine’s first pick.
Deuxmoi received a blind item stating that Hollywood’s latest heartthrob Glen Powell was “aggressively courted” for the coveted title supposedly joining the ranks of Ryan Gosling, Jason Momoa, and Keanu Reeves in the ‘thanks, but no thanks’ club.
“This just makes him hotter to me,” one X user swooned after learning of Powell’s alleged snub.
Another chimed in, “Good for him; honestly, he’s better than PEOPLE. He’s Vanity Fair.” I mean technically they’re not wrong, he was just featured on Vanity Fair‘s Hollywood issue:
The grapevine is also buzzing with whispers that some celebs might be willing to fork out serious dosh to grace the pages of the sexy issue.
“A-list singer turned A-list actress/producer spent a ton of her own money to make sure her boyfriend got into the magazine issue devoted to sexy men. It was more for her than him,” read one blind item.
However, Deuxmoi added that they have it on “very good authority that you can not pay to be in the SMA issue. Ever.”
Internet sleuths instantly jumped on the blind item with speculations on who it could possibly be about. The top contender was Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco.
Selena Gomez was recently seen celebrating her man Benny Blanco’s inclusion in the Sexiest Man Alive issue on her Instagram Story. “Not only do you love me unconditionally, you always get me my Taco Bell Mexican pizza,” Gomez wrote, reposting one of the photos from the magazine shoot.
Although the moment was sweet, people do think that Gomez paid for Blanco’s spot in the coveted issue and are not being shy about how they feel about him:
Deuxmoi received another blind item blasting their decision to post the rumour that people were paying for SMA spots.
“You’re blind about an A list actor willing to pay MILLIONS to be SMA to help his career contradicts your IG story where you’re disputing Enty’s blind about Selena paying to get her boyfriend in the issue. If you have it on GOOD AUTHORITY you can’t pay to get on SMA then why post your blind insinuating John did?”
Deuxmoi still insists that you can’t pay for SMA wins, despite posting the rumours. But who knows what the truth is. Are we witnessing a Hollywood hustle or just a wild game of telephone?
Radio personality Kyle Sandilands certainly seems to agree with Deuxmoi’s blinds. He talked about Krasinski’s win on air this morning and said, “Yeah, right. Big deal. You know, the way people get on these lists is not because they’re the most beautiful. It’s because their agents hustle the magazines.” TEA.
“It’s all bullshit. And everyone gets caught up in it. It’s a lie. It’s the biggest lie ever.”
Neither PEOPLE or John Krasinski have commented on the plethora of frankly diabolical and funny AF rumours.
