Former Michigan State pitcher Anthony Misiewicz has carved out a very nice MLB career for himself as a left handed relief pitcher. He has spent the past four seasons pitching for the Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals and Arizona Diamondbacks. He has pitched in 126 games over those seasons.
After battling some injury problems in Arizona this season, the Diamondbacks designated Misiewicz for assignment, and the Tigers jumped on the opportunity to get the lefty from Anchor Bay.
LHP Anthony Misiewicz has been claimed off waivers from Arizona and optioned to Triple A Toledo.
To make room for Misiewicz on the 40-man roster, RHP Seth Elledge has been designated for assignment.

Misiewicz will start in Toledo, but look for him to make the move back up to the majors soon.
