The Detroit Red Wings have made a huge move, acquiring former Michigan State Spartan defenseman Jeff Petry from the Montreal Canadiens.
Petry spent 2007-2010 patrolling the blue line in East Lansing, being a leading player for Michigan State. Following his time in the green and white, Petry has gone on to have a 14 year career in the National Hockey League with the Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadians and Pittsburgh Penguins.
It now appears his 15th season in the league will be spent with his hometown Red Wings.
