The Detroit Lions have made significant moves to secure their future by locking in two key players with lucrative contract extensions. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has agreed to a four-year deal worth over $120 million, including $77 million in guarantees. Additionally, offensive tackle Penei Sewell has signed a four-year contract valued at $112 million.

St. Brown, a fourth-round pick from USC in 2021, was entering the final year of his rookie contract. He had a standout season last year, earning All-Pro honors while contributing to the Lions' division title win and playoff success. With career highs of 119 receptions, 1,515 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns in the previous season, St. Brown has been a key asset for the team.

Sewell, drafted seventh overall from Oregon in 2021, also made a significant impact in his rookie season, earning All-Pro recognition. Known for his durability, Sewell has started 50 regular-season games and all three postseason games, helping the Lions reach the NFC championship game for the first time in over two decades.

The Detroit Lions, under the leadership of general manager Brad Holmes, are gearing up for the upcoming NFL draft where they hold the 29th overall pick in the first round. These contract extensions reflect the team's commitment to building a competitive roster and sustaining success in the league.
