This week’s episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast offers a different style. Instead of being a two-man live show, this one wound up being a solo show due to logistical challenges.
The show was recorded late Tuesday and celebrates the Lions’ ability to win a shootout game against a very good Chargers offense. There is a focus on the excellence of the Detroit offensive line and the creative playcalling by Ben Johnson that the OL helps facilitate.
Of course, the 38 points the defense gave up need to be addressed too. What’s going on with Aidan Hutchinson, and what kind of help is he getting? Aaron Glenn shoulders a lot of the blame for his defense giving up five straight touchdown drives by the Chargers to end the game, but Glenn’s players did the DC no favors in this one, either.
There is a look ahead to the Week 11 matchup with the Bears, and even a teaser thought on the Packers in Week 12. The next two games are a chance for the Lions to improve to 9-2, and it sure shapes up nicely to make that happen.
The absurd Dan Campbell-to-Texas A&M speculation, a different Lions coach who makes a more realistic choice for that job, and Campbell’s diaper-wearing idea all get hit upon as well.
