Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in a collision in Redbridge.

The victim, 31, died in hospital after the crash on the A12 at around 2am on Thursday.

Paramedics were scrambled to the scene near Blake Hall Road where they found the Honda rider with critical injuries.

Police road traffic investigators are appealing for dashcam footage and witnesses but they do not believe any other vehicle was incolved.

A police statement said: “Police were called to the A12, directly below Blake Hall Road, shortly before 02:00hrs on Thursday, 24 November following reports that a motorcyclist had been injured.

“Officers attended with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. The 31-year-old rider of a red Honda motorcycle was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital in a critical condition. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he did not survive his injuries.

“His family have been informed and are being supported by officers.”

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating. At this early stage, it is not believed that any other vehicles were involved.

“Officers would like to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time, or who captured the collision on dash cam.”

Anyone with information is asked to call DC Daniel James at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8597 4874.
