Police are appealing for information after a car was torched in Shotts.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning, just hours after an attempt was made on another car.
Around 8pm on Saturday (February 5), officers received a call about an attempt to set ablaze a car on Tulloch Road in the Stane area of the town.
Hours later, around 3.30am on Sunday (February 6) attended after reports of a car on fire on the same street.
Emergency services attended and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire safely. There were no injuries.
DC Murray McMillan appealed for locals to come forward to assist detectives with their enquiries.
He told Lanarkshire Live : “Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of these reckless acts.
“We are treating the fire as deliberate and are asking anyone with any information to come forward and speak to officers.
“Although this took place in the early hours of the morning, I would ask if you noticed anyone acting suspicious in the area to get in contact with police.
“I would also appeal to anyone who has possible dashcam or CCTV footage that may be able to assist us with our enquiries.”
Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact police on 101.
