THE details for Scotland’s leading festival of economics has been announced – including top academics and international policymakers.
Scotonomics, which held two previous festivals, has announced the coming year's event will take place in Dundee from March 21 until 22.
The event is billed as bring together "academics, activities, policymakers, politicians, and the general public to learn how to avoid being deceived by mainstream economists".
Tickets are available for an online and in person audience.
A "pre-festival event" in Leith on Thursday, March 20 will be held, with two panels.
The first will focus on the "Economics of the Real World" and will include Brett Christophers, a Professor of Human Geography at Uppsala University.
The second, the "Economics of Independence" will be chaired by Laura Webster, editor of The National and feature Ivan McKee, Minister for Public Finance and William Thomson, economist and founder of Scotonomics.
BBC economics correspondent Andy Verity is set to lead several events, with Dirk Ehnts and Eric Tymoigne to discuss monetary operations in the "real world".
Danny Dorling, a professor of human geography at the University of Oxford, and Clara Mattei, associate professor in the economics department of The New School for Social Research, will discuss the origins and impact of austerity in the UK and how we can escape the austerity trap in Scotland.
Land reform campaigner and author Andy Wightman will feature on a panel discussing who owns Scotland.
