Veteran journalist Hugh Keevins has claimed Philippe Clement earns £50k per week at Rangers.
The Clyde 1 Superscoreboard regular made the blockbuster statement as he suggested Rangers cannot afford to sack the Belgian boss in the wake of the defeat to Queen's Park.
Rangers crashed out of the Scottish Cup to the Scottish Championship side on Sunday piling pressure on Clement.
However, Keevins has suggested on the radio show that Clement will not be sacked by Rangers due to a gargantuan pay-off necessary to cut ties with the manager.
"I think he spoke yesterday with the assurance of a man who knows he is not getting sacked," said Keevins.
"I can only suspect, and it is suspicion, that Rangers can't afford to get rid of Philippe Clement who I understand earns £50,000 per week, £2.5m per year.

"If Rangers were not in a position to buy Lyall Cameron from Dundee for £400k and took him on a pre-contract deal instead, then £400k amounts to eight weeks wages for Philippe Clement.
"I think he is there under sufferance."
Rangers hero Kris Boyd earlier today insisted Rangers fans must be told whether Clement is only remaining in the Ibrox dugout because of financial implications.
"Philippe Clement is hanging on to his job - just," he said on Sky Sports.
"But the Rangers fans want to know - and I know that Patrick Stewart has said it wasn't a financial decision, in the past - but right now the Rangers fans need to know if Philippe Clement is only there because of finances."
