Details of Nat Phillips Liverpool to Celtic loan unveiled

The details of Nat Phillips' loan move to Celtic have been revealed.

The centre back will join the Hoops in a temporary switch from Liverpool prior to tomorrow's transfer deadline.

Brendan Rodgers has identified the 26-year-old as the ideal player to help plug the gaps in his defence amid an injury headache.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, Maik Nawrocki, and Stephen Welsh are all out of action until at least mid-October.

So, Phillips will come into the fold and will likely play alongside Gustaf Lagerbiekle as Celtic take on Rangers this Sunday.

The Athletic have reported the length of the loan move.

They state that he will be at Celtic until at least January when both the Hoops and Liverpool will review the situation. It could then be extended to the end of the season.

Phillips made just seven appearances for Liverpool last season. Two in the Premier League, two in the EFL Cup, two in the Premier Reserve League, and one in the FA Cup.

He has gained first team experience with previous loan spells in recent years at Stuttgart and Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Celtic transfer target Paulo Bernardo is set to arrive in Glasgow today, according to a report.

The Benfica winger is poised to become Brendan Rodgers' latest summer signing.

The Scottish Sun reports the 21-year-old is due in Scotland today to finalise talks with the Parkhead club.

They state that Bernando will join on an initial loan deal, with the Hoops obtaining the option to buy the player at the end of the season, similar to the previous arrangement with the Portuguese giants for Jota.
