'Destiny 2' x 'Star Wars' Crossover Will Show You Why Titans Are the Perfect Stormtroopers

"Destiny 2" is no stranger to collaborations, including "Street Fighter 6" and "Mass Effect." The latest expansion, needless to say, is expected to be high on people's expectations.

Still, the excitement and anticipation are pretty strong about the new weapons and also a much-needed "Star Wars" crossover.

'Destiny 2's' 'Star Wars' Crossover Adds Iconic Armor Sets

Bungie and "Star Wars" have teamed up to bring a number of new cosmetic items into the game, including Finishers, Emotes, and Ghost Shells. But the big key to the crossover, according to GameRant, is the three armor sets inspired by the Galactic Empire. There's one for each class:

  • Warlocks get the Royal Protector, which is based on the Imperial Royal Guards.
  • Titans are suited up in Shock Enforcer, which is modeled after Stormtroopers.
  • Hunters wear the Covert Ranger set, which is a Death Trooper-inspired set.

All three armor sets are true to "Star Wars," but the Shock Enforcer armor is the most thematic for Titans, given the class's long-standing playstyle and memes within the "Destiny 2" community.

Titans and Stormtroopers: A Match Made in Heaven

One of the best-known jokes within "Star Wars" is that Stormtroopers have a horrible aim, hitting their marks much less than in battle. Of course, "Destiny 2's" Titans don't exactly possess that particular trait; however, they have a special combat philosophy which makes them rather eerily like Stormtroopers.

Unlike Hunters and Warlocks, Titans are generally melee-oriented fighters, and in many ways, they favor the strength of blows over the accuracy of precision. Their fight plan often goes by charging at the enemy and then throwing huge punches instead of shooting guns.

This is an aspect that goes perfectly with the aesthetic of the Stormtrooper not because they miss their shots, but because they opt for more aggressive close-range tactics instead of precision at long ranges.

Bungie's Episode Heresy

Bungie has always championed the melee skills of the Titans, and Episode Heresy continues that legacy. The greatest Titan build following the launch will center around Consecration as a melee, making the class the ultimate "Destiny 2" brawler.

They are often not seen in high-pressure situations like Raid Races due to their weak potential for dealing ranged damage, further cementing the comparison with Stormtroopers and their lackluster skills with blasters.

In addition to the thematic link, the Shock Enforcer set includes a melee-themed Finisher, which also underlines Titans' natural aptitude for close-range combat. Bungie's design decision makes it plain and simple that Titans are not just donning Stormtrooper armor for aesthetics; they represent the melee-focused combat style with which they are associated.

Why the Titan-Stormtrooper Link Works So Well

The Stormtrooper armor is not just a fun cosmetic choice—it's a perfect reflection of the Titan class. In many scenarios, Titans are encouraged to rely on their fists rather than firearms, reinforcing the idea that they don't just miss shots; they often don't take them at all.

While Hunters and Warlocks excel in ranged engagements against bosses, Titans thrive in close-quarters combat, making them the ideal candidates for the Stormtrooper treatment.
