Destination Dresses: Where To Wear 7 Stunning Looks Before Summer Is Over

It’s the last day of August today but that doesn’t mean summer is over — there are technically three weeks left. To close out the season in style, we’re listing some beautiful dresses (and two two-pieces) and where you should wear them. After all the weather and vibe can vary greatly from location to location. From the Nordics to the tropics, here are looks you will want to wear:

1. Athens - Totême Gathered Jersey Dress in Cava

This draped dress has major Grecian goddess vibes and is perfect to wear in Athens on a hot September day. The maxi length is airy and moves beautifully with your body featuring a unique one-shoulder design. This dress can be worn with flat or heels, making it an ideal day to night candidate for your stay in the Greek capital.

2. Santorini - SIR the Label Dmitri Maxi Skirt and One Shoulder Top

This blue and white two-piece set is perfect for the island of Santorini, where the buildings are almost exclusively those two colors. The material is an airy silk and cotton blend with a nautical corded rope to fasten both the skirt and top. The skirt also conveniently has pockets giving it a more casual feel. Wear this out to dinner at one of Santorini’s many beautiful outdoor restaurants where you will fit right in color scheme wise.

3. Miami - Never Fully Dressed Miami Jaspre Skirt and Cami Top

Miami is colorful and tropical, so why not wear a set that’s both of those things when you’re there. Never Fully Dressed’s Miami Jaspre Skirt and Cami Top go perfectly together (looking almost like a dress) in a mix of pink, green and yellow print with palm trees and building patterns featured prominently. Both the top and skirt are very versatile and can be worn in a variety of ways. The set is even pregnancy-friendly. Wear this to go for a juice on a warm Miami day and blend in with the vividly colorful scenery.

4. Canouan - Andrea Imayah Reni Dress

This orange bronze number by Andrea Imayah has a silk finish and is perfect for an equally colorful sunset. The Caribbean island of Canouan is famous for its beautiful beaches and sundown scenery so you should pack this dress for a trip there. It’s perfect to wear at the newly opened Soho Beach House Canouan and with a little midriff showing you are guaranteed to steal the show.

Matthew Bruch Colorblocked Linen Halter Mini Dress Matthew Bruch

5. Tulum - Matthew Bruch Colorblocked Linen Halter Mini Dress

With a mix of barely there linen and comfortable ties, this Matthew Bruch is the ultimate hot weather item ideal to wear in a sweltering location like Tulum. With an A-line cut and almost entirely bare back, you will be able to cool off easily and look scorchingly hot in the process. This dress also takes up little space in your suitcase, ideal for a short weekend getaway with just a small carry-on.

Ulla Johnson Honoria Dress Ulla Johnson

6. Stockholm - Ulla Johnson Honoria Dress

Let’s go to a less hot location but one which has super long daytime hours — Stockholm. This Ulla Johnson Honoria Dress from their pre-fall 2021 collection features a beautiful bronze, blue and black print and can be worn with bare legs or tights for those chilly Scandinavian late summer nights. The flutter sleeves are super flattering and the belted waist give you a nice hourglass figure.

7. Sardinia – Shona Joy Magnolia Tiered Midi Dress in Ivory

Nothing says summer like a white dress and this one by Shona Joy also works during cooler September evenings. This ivory dress in textured cotton broderie features a voluminous balloon sleeve and waist-cinching belt. Wear this on a sunset cruise around Sardinia when you feel a little chill after a day of swimming this September.
