An appeal has been launched to help locate a dog who ran away after a 'terrible' car crash on the M74 motorway.
The accident happened on the M74 motorway near to Abington in Lanarkshire, around 35 miles south of Glasgow.
An acquaintance of the person involved the smash took to Facebook group DogLost Central Scotland to issue an appeal to locals for help in locating the dog, which is believed to have bolted into nearby fields.

The rescue dog is chipped and is reported to be approximately 18 months old.
The post reads: "Please can someone help. My friend's mum has had a terrible car accident. Her rescue dog has escaped the car and run. The dog is very timid and won't go to people. They were travelling on the M74, but the area where they are miles of fields.
"The dog was last seen running by the motorway. My friends mum is elderly and we are in Bristol ourselves so any help will be so appreciated."
