A missing student has been found after a police appeal.
Ion Ionasco, 22, was last seen on Wednesday (December 14) at 6:55 pm, at Popolino's takeaway on Oxford Road. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said he was visiting a friend in Manchester for the weekend of Friday December 9 to Sunday December 11, but a flight cancellation forced him to extend his stay.
Police took to social media and shared appeals asking for help in locating him.
But, a spokesperson for the force has since shared the news that he has been found. In a post on Facebook, they said: "Greater Manchester Police would like to profoundly thank members of the public for sharing the missing person appeal for 22-year-old Romanian student, Ion Ionasco.
"We can confirm that Ion has been located as a result of this public appeal and our officers will continue to support Ion and his family."
