Designer Deborah Latouche Unveils Luxury Modest Fashion Brand Sabirah

Deborah Latouche showcased her luxury modest fashion brand Sabirah at London Fashion Week.

During London Fashion Week, stylist and designer Deborah Latouche showcased her luxury modest fashion brand Sabirah, drawing inspiration from Dynasty's Dominique Devereux. Latouche, a seasoned fashion industry professional with over 18 years of experience, identified a gap in the market for fashionable modest wear that aligns with religious beliefs.

Launching Sabirah in 2020, Latouche focuses on exquisite tailoring and attention to detail, offering made-to-measure pieces using high-end fabrics sourced from Italy and leftover materials from fashion houses. Embracing responsible production practices, she prioritizes sustainability by utilizing existing fabrics and vintage buttons, while manufacturing her garments in the UK.

The collection pays homage to Dominique Devereux's 80s elegance and power-dressing aesthetic, featuring puff sleeves, tailored jackets with statement shoulders, and winter kaftans in refined tones. Key pieces include the 'Princess Blouse' made from 100 percent Italian silk, a tailored cape with metallic thread accents, and a voluminous fan coat constructed with 15 meters of netting for structural support.

Latouche's design narrative reflects the influence of Dominique Devereux as a powerful, sophisticated woman of color, resonating with both her personal journey and the women in her family. The collection exudes vintage glamour, complemented by powdery pink-feathered hats and delicate lace eyepieces by Piers Atkinson.
