The Cleveland Browns kick off their 2022 preseason slate of games Friday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars. While the games don’t count, they do matter. Health will be the priority for all teams in the preseason but the Browns and Jaguars will also want to get a good look at a variety of players on their 90-man rosters.
Earlier, Jacksonville announced that Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne and most of their starters would see the field Friday night. The Jaguars opened the preseason with the Hall of Fame Game that didn’t see many key players on the field.
For Cleveland, it is expected to be the debut of QB Deshaun Watson in the orange and brown uniform unless the NFL gets its way and he is suspended for at least a year before the game kicks off.
The team announced Wednesday after their closed practice that most of the starters, including Watson, would play Friday:
The Browns announced Wednesday that they will play most of their starters in Friday’s preseason opener against the Jaguars. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at TIAA Bank Stadium.
