Originally from Los Angeles, Jackson played college football at California before embarking on a successful NFL career with teams in close proximity to Delaware State, including Philadelphia, Washington, and Baltimore.
Andy Reid, head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs and Jackson's former coach in Philadelphia, expressed his support for Jackson's coaching aspirations, praising his leadership qualities and predicting success at Delaware State.
