Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is reportedly gearing up to raise money for former President Donald Trump in the near future. This move comes after a recent meeting between DeSantis and Trump, where the Florida governor expressed his commitment to supporting his former rival for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

While the details are still being finalized and plans could potentially change, sources familiar with the matter have revealed that DeSantis is actively reaching out to donors. His finance team is swiftly working on putting together a fundraising schedule that may include stops in Florida and Texas.

DeSantis' efforts signal a significant step towards political reconciliation with Trump, who had previously mocked him as “DeSanctimonious” during their rivalry. By leveraging his extensive fundraising network, DeSantis aims to strengthen his ties with Trump, a move that could prove beneficial if he decides to run for president again in 2028.

Notable figures within DeSantis' fundraising circle have expressed their support for this initiative, highlighting the governor's dedication to the former president. They anticipate that donors who previously supported DeSantis but have not yet contributed to Trump's cause will likely follow suit, potentially generating substantial financial support.

DeSantis, who emerged as a formidable contender following his successful reelection in 2022, raised over $183 million for his Republican presidential primary campaign. The majority of these funds, exceeding $145 million, were allocated to the super PAC Never Back Down, which has the capacity to receive unlimited donations. Additionally, DeSantis raised more than $200 million for his 2022 Florida campaign.

In response to inquiries about the fundraising efforts, DeSantis' spokesperson confirmed that they are actively working on plans to raise funds in support of President Trump, as well as other Republican candidates at various levels of government.
