Derry v Tyrone: Watch Live Dr McKenna Cup final

Derry and Tyrone clash in the final of the Dr McKenna Cup this evening.

Derry won the Ulster title last year, while Tyrone disappointed in their All-Ireland title defence.

It may only be the middle of January, but this is already the second occasion which these sides have met each other.

And while other preseason competitions may have fallen apart, the McKenna Cup is still going strong and there is a fierce appetite for January football North of the border.

Of course, the serious business begins next weekend when the Allianz Leagues get under way and both teams will be keen to maintain momentum ahead of what looks like winnable openers.

Tyrone start their Division One campaign with a trip to Dr Hyde Park to face Roscommon, who won Division Two last season.

Derry host Limerick in Owenbeg with the Treatymen moving up to the second tier after gaining promotion from Division Three last season.

Lachlan Murray’s late equaliser against the Red Hands ensured that Derry progressed to the last four and they edged past Down following a penalty shoot-out in Newry last Sunday while Tyrone defeated Cavan last Saturday night.

At half time, Derry lead 0-7 to 0-1.
