Derry v Galway ticket info as GAA confirm All-Ireland semi-final details

Derry fans planning to attend their forthcoming All-Ireland SFC semi-final clash with Galway will, once again, have to source their tickets online after the GAA confirmed that no tickets will be distributed via the clubs.

The vast majority of tickets will go on sale today from noon via ticketmaster.ie with some on sale in selected Centra and SuperValu stores and are limited to six per person.

The first semi-final will take place on Saturday, July 9 at 5.30pm and will form a double-header with Cavan’s Tailteann Cup final meeting with Westmeath.

On Sunday, July 10, the ‘big two’ of Dublin and Kerry clash at 3.30pm with the All-Ireland Junior final acting as a curtain-raiser at 1pm. Tickets for the second semi-final are on sale later this afternoon at 3pm.

The ticket prices for the semi-finals are more expensive than last weekend’s quarter-final double-headers.

Full price adult tickets are €50 for the Hogan, Davin and Cusack stands, Hill 16 and Nally tickets (standing) are €35 while Juvenile tickets are €10.

The Ulster champions booked their place in the last four with a resounding 14-point win over Clare on Saturday afternoon while the Tribesmen claimed a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Armagh in Croke Park on Sunday.

Pádraic Joyce’s men are expected to appeal the red card issued to captain Seán Kelly after he was sent off before the start of extra-time along with Armagh’s joint-captain Aidan Nugent.

The pair were cited for ‘contributing to a melee’ after players from both teams clashed at the end of normal time.

Armagh also had defender Greg McCabe sent off on the hour mark for a huge hit on Galway’s Matthew Tierney.

Kerry, meanwhile, are also sweating on the fitness of star forward David Clifford after he picked up an ankle injury in their 1-18 to 0-13 victory over Mayo on Sunday.

Clifford, who scored the only goal in Sunday’s fourth and final quarter-final, was replaced late on and he’ll undergo a scan this week to assess the injury.

Dublin enjoyed a comfortable 0-21 to 0-10 win over Cork on Saturday and their meeting with Munster champions Kerry is expected to draw another bumper crowd to Croke Park.

Over 50,000 were in attendance for Saturday’s double-header while Sunday’s games attracted a crowd of 71,333 to Croke Park.
