Taking to social media, Umi Asian announced their new venture.
Umi Asian will takeover a space previously occupied by Derry favourite Pyke n Pommes, who will still remain in their ever-popular restaurant next door.
Expressing their excitement at the prospect of their new neighbour, Pyke n Pommes also took to social media to congratulate Umi Asian on this exciting new journey.
They said: "Yes Derry City!! So today is a mixture of emotions! As much as I'm sad to let go! I'm delighted to have the new Umi Asian become our neighbours.
Keep an eye on their socials for opening!"
Umi Asian replied: "Thanks for everything man!! Can’t wait to be neighbours"
Having Umi Asian on Derry's Strand Road will further enhance the area and draw people back to a road which not so long ago was synonymous with closed down businesses and shutters.
The transformation of Derry's Strand Road has been down to keen local entrepreneurs and businesses and will continue to flourish with restaurants such as Umi Asian.
