A Northern Ireland anti-war group has called for the people of Derry to join them in protesting against a Russia-Ukraine war this weekend.
It comes after reports suggest that Russian forces launched a major military assault on Ukraine earlier on Thursday, with reports of missile strikes and explosions near major cities.
The rally is set to take place at Derry's Diamond War Memorial on Saturday, January 26, at 2pm.
The organisers, Derry Anti-War Coalition (DAWC), said they believe the current crisis should 'be settled on a basis which recognises the right of the Ukrainian people to self-determination and addresses Russia’s security concerns'.
In a statement on social media, they urged the people to Derry to unite.
