Derry Girls star to appear on RTE's The Late Late Show to chat all things stardom

Derry Girls star Siobhán McSweeney will be featured on Irish talk show The Late Late show on Friday to chat all things Channel 4, her new TV series, and making saucy candlesticks during lockdown.

Siobhán, best known for her role as the sarcastic Sister Michael in Derry Girls, will be chatting to host Ryan Tubridy about the third and final series of the hit Channel 4 show, as well as other exciting new roles.

On The Late Late website, Siobhán's appearance will include: "going home to Cork to film her new television series, how she ended up in a nursing home after breaking her leg and making saucy candlesticks during lockdown."

The esteemed Irish actress is an audience favourite as Sister Michael, with her infamous one-liners and picture-perfect eye-rolls having audiences in stitches.

She will be resuming her role as the nun and principal of Our Lady Immaculate College, alongside the Derry gang of Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O'Donnell), Orla (Louisa Harland), and James (Dylan Llewellyn).

As the third and final series is confirmed to air on April 12, fans have been hyping up the release over on social media.

One Twitter user wrote: "happy dynasty day and derry girls month!! buzzin like your cousin."

Another said: "Derry Girls final Season 12th April, cannot wait!!!!!!"

And a third wrote: "just saw a derry girls advert at the bus stop and now im sad this is the final season :("

Further comments read: "Greatly looking forward to the third series of Derry Girls, but the only way Sister Michael will make sense to me is if she turns out to be in hiding, like Whoopi Goldberg or Robbie Coltrane and Eric Idle. Because real nuns are not cool, sarcastic, dead pan legends."

And a fifth person said: "THERE'S GOING TO BE A 3RD SEASON OF DERRY GIRLS OMFG LIFE IS GOOD GREAT EVEN."

The third and final season of Derry Girls will air on Channel 4 on April 12, at a time yet to be released.
