The show has become a smash hit across the world, and is highly revered by the people of Derry.
Since it began in January 2018, Derry Girls managed to perfectly encapsulate the humour and heart of those from Derry.
The show has made its mark on the city, with Derry Girls themes walking tours, merchandise and of course, the now-infamous Derry Girls mural.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting news of Series 3, and while many expected this series to be the last, creator Lisa McGee confirmed the news today.
Taking to Twitter to celebrate, Derry Girls creator and writer Lisa McGee said: "We’re back b******! Happy St Paddy’s day!"
Ms McGee has previously described the show as a "love letter" to Derry, where she grew up and went to school, and to the people there who helped to shape her.
You can watch Derry Girls season 3 later this year on Channel 4.
