The cycling community have paid tribute to a "great" cyclist after his sudden death.
The Foyle Cycling Club in Derry has expressed condolences to the family of Adrian McDermott who has sadly passed away.
He has been described as a "gentleman" and "a great family man" who was a regular at many cycling events in the north west over the last several years.
The Foyle Cycling Club said: "Foyle Cycling Club would like to send their heartfelt and deepest condolences to the family of Adrian McDermott. We are all in shock at hearing of the sudden death of Adrian.
"Adrian was a true gentleman a great family man and a great cyclist."
They added: "He was a regular at many of our club spins and cycling events over the years, when he wasn’t competing he was there cheering on the other cyclists at our road races and time trials."
"We will miss seeing you on the road Adrian, your friendly wave of acknowledgement as our training groups passed each other as we enjoyed our sport on the roads of Donegal, Derry and Tyrone.
"RIP Adrian Mc Dermott from all at Foyle Cycling."
A spokesperson for LK Bikes said he would be greatly missed by all.
They said: "It’s with a broken heart I write this, unfortunately, last night we got the dreaded news that our head mechanic, Adrian McDermott had passed away.
"We have not only lost a work colleague but a best friend. Rest in peace Adrian, we all love you."
