A generous cafe owner in Derry has offered to provide food for children as the effects of the cost of living crisis continue to be felt across the country.
Nine Hostages Coffee Co. on Waterloo Street said it 'wasn't fair' that children had to suffer during the crisis, encouraging parents who are struggling to make ends meet to call in if needed.
Taking to social media, the cafe announced the initiative to its followers this week.

"We can't believe how much everything has increased in price recently," said a spokesperson for the cafe.
"All us in hospitality have had to put prices up on everything to try to meet the astronomical prices of produce and pay wages and bills. It's not fair, especially on the kids.
"We are doing free kids meals from Friday, September 2. If you need somewhere to go after school for a [bit of] peace then you're so welcome up here.
"We will ask what you'd like from the free menu. There is zero judgement. We'd have loved this when we were wee... 400 years ago.
Sometimes nobody's in the house when you get home or maybe someone in your class is finding things tough. Tell them about this or even suggest calling in with them.
"It'll be on every day, all day. We will have a few different items on the menu so just let us know if you're allergic to anything you see. We'll try to find an alternative.
Please, for the love of jeepers, don't feel embarrassed to come in or ask us about anything. We will be delighted to see yees! Many of us in the shop grew up with little to nothing and know how it feels. It's a joy to see folk coming in and enjoying food."
