This month, the brewery is creating 'Amelia's Speakeasy' in honour of the 90th anniversary of Amelia Earhart's emergency landing in fields just outside of the city.

In a social media post, they said: "In conjunction with Derry and Strabane District Council- Walled City Brewery presents a tribute to Amelia Earhart on her 90th anniversary of her historic landing here in Derry!

"A one night only event on Friday 20th May - Amelia’s Speakeasy!

"A five course menu that takes us back to the 1920s including 3 bespoke cocktails using our very own Earhart Gin!

"This is a black tie event-our own way of honouring Amelia’s era and the life she would have been accustomed to!

"All bookings can be made through the link in our bio! Bookings are essential and we anticipate that this event will sell out quickly so we wouldn’t hang around!"

This prestigious event is an incredible way to pay tribute to an amazing trailblazer.

Alongside local produce and food, the Walled City Brewery will use their own Earhart Gin to bring the evening to life.

Earhart gin uses hand picked botanicals including purple saxifrage, elderberry and hawthorn berry, from the meadow where Amelia's plane landed.

The event will coincide with other events planned through Derry City and Strabane District Council to mark this important anniversary.
