Derrick Lewis’ best UFC moments including Joe Rogan one-liner and Alexander Volkov hilarity

UFC 271 gets underway this weekend in what is expected to be one of the more exciting cards of the year which will see two blockbuster fights.

The main event will feature middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who many feel is the pound-for-pound number one, facing rival Robert Whittaker in a second meeting.

The rematch with Whittaker comes two years after their first contest, which saw Adesanya win via knockout in a stand-up slugfest. Since that defeat, though, Whittaker has bounced back impressively, going on a three match winning streak since then - one of which against Liverpool's Darren Till.

Elsewhere on the card, we'll one of the more exciting, explosive and unpredictable heavyweights in the division as Derrick Lewis makes his return to the octagon against Tai Tuivasa.

Lewis holds the record of most heavyweight knockouts in UFC history, but that might not be the thing that he's most beloved and remembered for.

It's his in-ring interviews, outbursts and random acts which fans have fallen in love with over the years - becoming one of the more colourful personalities in all of sports.

Here are five hilarious quotes from Lewis in his in-ring interviews following a win giving his immediate thoughts.

"I gotta boo boo"

After a 2017 victory over Travis Browne, Lewis had been holding his groin after the fight.

Browne landed some heavyweight kicks to Lewis' lower body throughout the fight, before Lewis was able knockout his opponent in the second.

When asked if he was hurt from the kicks, Lewis said: "I just gotta do a number two, that's all.

"It's not really hurting from the kick - I just gotta boo boo."

"I love Canada but I'm from Texas - I'm not with all this snow, ya'll can have that s***"

In that same interview following the fight with Browne, Lewis dropped another memorable one-liner.

Lewis trained and fought Browne in Nova Scotia, Canada - an area which sees snow for the majority of the year.

And for a man living and growing up in Texas, that's not something Lewis had been used to.

But he had been a fans favourite throughout his week, and was given a huge round of applause before and after his fight.

When speaking to the fans post-fight, Lewis said: "Hey Canada, man I love your guys.

"But I'm from Texas. I'm not with all this snow, ya'll can have that s***, for real."

"My b*lls was hot"

After an impressive victory over Tom Aspinall's next opponent at UFC London - Alexander Volkov - heavyweight Lewis was quick to take his pants off the ring after celebrating his victory.

Prior to his in-ring interview, Joe Rogan noticed, and asked Lewis why he decided to do so.

Lewis said: "My b*lls was hot."

"I understand", Rogan replied.

"I need to sit my a** down and do some cardio"

Lewis has always spoken on not being that bothered about fighting for titles, glory or fame - but wanting to fight because it's something he likes to do and is paid well for doing.

In that same interview with Rogan following his victory over Volkov, Lewis was on a three-win streak with victories over Volkov, Marcin Tybura and Francis Ngannou.

When asked by Rogan about a potential title fight, the exhausted Lewis responded: "I need to sit my black a** down and do some cardio. I don't know the **** what you talking about right now. I ain’t trying to fight for no title right now."

"I gotta take a s***"

After his victory over Derrick Lewis was preparing to be interviewed by fellow fighter Paul Felder.

Lewis had not been made aware that the interview had already started and asked how long it was going to be, before stating, "I just gotta take a s***.

When realising he was on air, he said: "Oh... hello?"

Lewis will face Tai Tuivasa on Saturday night - another beloved figure within the UFC.

Tuivasa has also become a fans favourite, celebrating his wins by drinking beer out of other people's shoes in the ring.

He's even said that he'll drink out Lewis' wrestling cup after the fight.

Lewis laughed and replied: "That man's nasty, man."
