Derrick Henry Responds to Idea Titans Have Hit ‘Rock Bottom’ After 3–7 Start

The Titans have gotten off to a 3–7 start to the season, and fresh off a 34–14 loss to the Jaguars, the topic of the team hitting “rock bottom” was brought up to running back Derrick Henry. Not surprisingly, he gave a candid and honest approach on the subject.

“I don’t know what rock bottom feels like, but, woo … yeah, man, it’s tough, it’s definitely tough. But we just haven’t been good enough, I’m not making no excuse,” Henry told reporters after the game.

Tennessee was held scoreless in the first half against Jacksonville, and ultimately were never really within striking distance during the 20-point loss. Henry finished the game with 38 yards on 10 carries.

The Jacksonville game marked the Titans’ third consecutive loss and its fifth in the last six games. The team’s offensive struggles have been apparent and coach Mike Vrabel has opted to stick with rookie quarterback Will Levis, even with former starter Ryan Tannehill back from injury.

As for Henry, he’s totaled 663 yards on 158 carries this season with four touchdowns. Currently, the 29-year-old running back is on pace to finish the season with his fewest rushing yards, touchdowns and yards per attempt over a full season (16-plus games) since 2018.
