Derren Brown, famed TV illusionist, magician and hypnotist, sampled Tynemouth 's award-winning Riley's Fish Shack this week.
The star has spent the week performing his show Showman at Newcastle 's Theatre Royal and on Friday he shared on Twitter a beautiful picture of King Edward's Bay in Tynemouth. He also paid tribute to the meal he'd had at the seafood spot which is consistently rated one of the UK's best.
Derren Brown said on Twitter: "One of the best lunches ever [at Riley's Fish Shack], Tynemouth. Thank you everyone, that was magnificent!"

In response, personalities including the Rev'd Richard Coles, food critic Jay Rayner and top chef Michel Roux Jr congratulated the illusionist on his choice of restaurant. Rev Coles said: "I love it." And Mr Rayner said: "Great choice."
Michel Roux Jr, owner of two-Michelin starred Mayfair restaurant Le Gavroche added: "Oh yes, magnificent place." In the replies many Geordies were telling Derren Brown and the other big names to keep news of Riley's Quiet - one said: "Shush don‘t tell everyone."
Even just this year, Riley's has been named as one of the Guardian's 20 best seaside restaurants, cafes and shacks, and by Conde Nast as one of the best foodie shacks in the UK.
Derren Brown's Showman has its final night at the Theatre Royal on Saturday September 17.
