Dermot O'Leary distracts viewers moments into ITV This Morning as Alison Hammond shared 'glow up'

Dermot O'Leary had This Morning viewers distracted barely minutes into Friday's show. The presenter was back on the ITV daytime show for his weekly hosting slot alongside Alison Hammond where they were joined by Phil Vickery in the kitchen, a dream expert taking viewers calls, and the finalists of The Apprentice alongside Lord Alan Sugar.

The pair opened the show by celebrating the fact it was 'Friyay' before telling viewers what was coming up in the show. Dermot went on to reveal that they were bringing back a "This Morning classic" in celebration of Mother's Day which he said was a "very special day" in the studio.

And the return was that one lucky viewer had been invited in for a makeover which hasn't been seen for a long time due to the ITV show being subject to strict coronavirus rules. The pair then briefly spoke to This Morning’s beauty expert Bryony Blake who teased her plans for the lucky guest before speaking to viewer Sarah about why she nominated her mother for a makeover.

Dermot then cheered about the "best in the business" as Alison mentioned that she "loves a glow up" before having to explain to a confused Dermot that it was just another way of describing a makeover.

Alison then told her co-host: "I’ve had a glow up today," as she brought a pop of colour to the studio with a bright green trouser suit with matching blazer and black top. The 47-year-old also had her hair styled in to an elegant updo with a sweeping side fringe, showing off her blue and gold earrings.

"Do you like this glow up," she then asked Dermot who replied: "You don't need a glow up. You were born glowed up." Alison laughed and told him: "I wish," before offering to show Dermot some pictures of what she really looks like in the morning.

"I showed Phil [Vickery] today and he was like, 'Oh, okay," as the camera panned to show the TV chef in the This Morning kitchen nodding away. But Dermot said: "Don't show me those, I like you just the way you are."

But it was Dermot, who was wearing a black t-shirt and a pair of cream chino trousers, that actually got viewers talking over his outfit.

@cb_038 tweeted: "Dermot's wearing his dad's trousers again I see #ThisMorning.

"So fascinated by how horrible Dermot’s trousers are #ThisMorning," @Miss_Vix88 bluntly commented.

A short while later, Alison left Dermot blushing as they spoke about Tinder. After returning from an advert break, Alison told Dermot: "You do realise you can come a little closer to me now?" then as Dermot cosied up to Alison, she commented: "Awwwww look how tall I am to you."

But Dermot was having none of it and fired back: "That's not fair! This thing, is that real?" he added, referring to Alison's hair which was tied up in a chic bun on top of her head.

She then teased him: "You're one of those guys who on Tinder says, 'I'm five foot nine', sure you're about five foot six," leaving Dermot asking about the dating app: "Which way is the good way?"

"I'm swiping left for you because you're married," she told him. "No, I meant in a different world," Dermot laughed, as Alison changed her answer and said: "If you wasn't married, I'd swipe right! Oh absolutely!"

The TV star then went a bit x-rated and cheekily added: "You know what, we're all the same height horizontally aren't we? Do you know what I mean?" leaving Dermot slightly surprised. "I read it in the book. I'm having a lovely time," he said.
