Dermot Desmond in rare Celtic appearance as Ange Postecoglou talks send fan theories into overdrive

Celtic principal shareholder Dermot Desmond is rarely seen in Glasgow - but appears to have made a special visit to meet with boss Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian has led the club to the brink of Treble with the Scottish Premiership title secured and the Viaplay Cup already safely placed in the Celtic Park trophy cabinet. Only the Scottish Cup Final and Inverness Caley Thistle stand between Postecoglou and an elite club of Treble winning bosses - Jock Stein, Martin O’Neill, Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon.

The boss will have one eye on the Champions League next term as he looks to take the club further on their European adventure after a taste of the group stage this term - and a chat with Desmond could prove vital to those plans. The snap has appeared on social media of the two chatting at the entrance to Celtic Park leading to some theories from fans over the visit.

One fan joked that Postecoglou will have told Desmond to "splash the cash, mate" while another chimed in "£30m transfer kitty". Another added on Twitter adding: "Hopefully it's a new 5 year contract."

The purpose of the visit remains up for debate. However, the Celtic boss will have plenty of bargaining chips after another season of dominance in Scotland.
