Dermot Bannon has shared a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming series of RTE’s Room to Improve.
The architect took to Instagram in advance of the new season, sharing a coy snap of one of the homes featured in the popular series. The photo shows off an airy modern kitchen with a beautiful outside view.
Dermot wrote: “And we’re back.. sneak peek of the first episode of Room to Improve this weekend on Sunday at 9:30pm.”

RTE has already released some information on the first episode to grace our screens. Dermot and QS Claire will meet with Amy and Conor, a young couple keen on renovating a farmhouse in Tullamore into their new home.
The derelict property has a special place in the couple’s hearts, having been the homestead of Conor’s grandparents. The duo set a budget of €325,000 for the renovations, but it remains to be seen whether Dermot’s ideas will fall in line with this figure.
The 50-year-old previously hit out at criticism that he always exceeds the set budget in his programme. He told the Irish Independent in a recent interview that he has become a better penny pincher, claiming to have not gone past the budget since the early seasons of the hit show.
RTE’s TV schedule for January has some impressive entries, with several highly anticipated programmes set to air in the next few weeks. Dancing with the Stars will make a welcome return to RTE One next week, with the show’s live audience returning for the first time since Covid-19 restrictions began.
First Dates Ireland is returning on January 5. Familiar faces such as restaurant host Mateo Saina will help out Irish singletons struggling to find love in its eighth season.
Room to Improve will air this Sunday January 8 on RTE 1 at 9.30pm.
