Dermot Bannon has just two words after RTE Room to Improve confusion

Dermot Bannon has responded to some viewer’s confusion over last night’s Room to Improve episode.

On Sunday night, RTE viewers watched Hilary and Paul Fairbrother renovate her childhood home in Blessington, Co Wicklow after buying it from her parents, Hugh and Carmel O’Neill.

The house was in need of a massive renovation, as well as being retrofitted. Architect Bannon was also tasked with capturing the stunning views of the Blessington Lakes that the house overlooked.

Hilary and Paul also announced plans to build a new home for her parents - who were looking forward to downsizing - on the 4 ½ acre site.

However, many viewers asked the same question when the episode came to an end, wondering what had happened with the parent’s home as no footage was shown of their stable conversion.

One person wrote on Twitter: "Beautiful house & a fabulous job done by Dermot & the team. But what happened to Hilary's parent's house??? !!!"

Another said: "Really need to have seen the parents gaff too".

"But the parents home?! The nosiness is killing me!" a third added.

Responding to the several questions directed at him, the presenter had just two words - “Next series”.

This prompted other viewers to urge people to “relax” and “calm down” as after Bannon himself confirmed the parent’s house will be shown on the next series.

The show saw Paul and Hilary modernise the house that was built originally in the 1970’s, which managed to come in under budget - something that doesn’t happen often.

The Fairbrothers were living in a two-bed apartment in Castleknock with their two children Finn and Evie and have since welcomed their third child, Mia.

Room to Improve made it's highly anticipated return to screens on February 20 with Season 13, and RTE have revealed over half a million viewers flocked to watch celebrity architects back in action.

Figures provided by RTE, on request of Irish Mirror revealed an average of 536,000 fans tuned in to watch the show’s long awaited comeback, including those who caught up later on +1.

The ratings winning return knocked chat show kings Tommy Tiernan and Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy off the top spot on its opening week, with an average of 415,000 tuning in to Tommy’s Saturday night episode, and 437,000 recorded to have tuned in on average for Friday’s Late Late Show, both including catch up on +1.

  • Room To Improve airs Sunday on RTE One at 9:30pm.
