Derek Chisora "would have smashed house up" if confronted like Anthony Joshua

Derek Chisora has told Anthony Joshua he would have dealt with the group of university students who recently heckled him a lot worse.

Joshua was filmed last month telling a group of Loughborough university students to "watch their mouths" whilst threatening to "break their jaws" after they heckled him about avoiding a fight with heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

In the video, Joshua can be heard telling the students: "Remember you’re running your mouth because when I start cracking your glass jaws, none of you will like it. Watch your mouths because you don’t know who you’re talking to sometimes."

Joshua has been training at the University as he gears up for his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk. Chisora has now weighed in on the video, telling talkSPORT: "I'd have done worse. I'd have smashed their whole house up. I'd have robbed them afterwards as well."

WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn backed him for his actions and claimed the group of students made several "unpleasant" comments to the former two-time heavyweight champion.

"I think the most remarkable thing was before he entered their apartment, he actually took his shoes off to have the conversation. A lot of people would have just steamed in. I understand the split opinion on it, but to be honest with you good on him," Hearn said.

"This is not Twitter, you want to stand there and scream out of a window, abusing someone. By the way it was a bit deeper than 'you've got a glass jaw'. Trust me, there was a lot of unpleasant things said and it got worse and worse."

Some fans criticised Joshua for threatening the group of students over their comments, but radio presenter Simon Jordan was also amongst those to defend the Brit. He thinks Joshua taught the students a valuable life lesson in that their words have consequences.

Joshua's longtime rival Fury mocked him for the video by later tweeting: "I have this effect on the best of them." After years of tension between the pair, Fury and Joshua were scheduled to fight last August but the fight was cancelled in favour of Fury's trilogy with Deontay Wilder.

Fury could be next in line for Joshua if he can back his heavyweight titles against Usyk, but 'The Gypsy King' insists he is retired from the sport and won't return even for an undisputed clash.
