Derek Chisora rejects offer from Tyson Fury for heavyweight trilogy fight

Derek Chisora has demanded more money to face heavyweight rival Tyson Fury in a trilogy bout.

Chisora and Fury became friends after the 'Gypsy King' prevailed in their two previous meetings in 2011 and 2014. However 'WAR' became 'homeless' after betting his entire home on Dillian Whyte to knock out Fury during his title defence back in April.

Fury then elected to end his friendship with Chisora and declared he would be willing to step back in the ring and face Chisora in a third showdown despite his planned retirement. Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed a member of the WBC champion's team had made an offer to Chisora to stage the bout, following his victory over Kubrat Pulev. "I know that someone from Tyson's team has also reached out to Chisora about a potential fight in December," Hearn told iFL TV. "Who knows?

However Hearn has now confirmed Chisora has rejected the offer but has admitted it is good to see Fury considering calling an end to his plan to quit to the sport. "Derek had an offer from the Tyson Fury camp," Hearn told Boxing Social when asked about the latest on a potential third fight. "It wasn't enough money, I'm not sure we're gonna see that fight, but good to see Tyson Fury keeping his options open."

Fury dominated both fights with Chisora when the pair met and he would likely go into a third fight as a huge favourite. Despite Fury not yet confirming an offer was made, it is likely contact may have been made with Fury previously naming Chisora on his boxing hit-list in a bid to face him again before his career was over.

Chisora recently defeated Pulev to breathe new life into the twilight stages of his heavyweight career and called out Fury's former rival Deontay Wilder. However the 'Bronze Bomber' has already rejected the fight, which could leave Chisora with limited options but to pursue a third fight with either Fury or Whyte.

However Chisora is certainly open to the third fight with Fury, but will not wait around if a deal can't be agreed. "Listen Frank Warren and the 'Gypsy King's posee, just tell me when and where or what time and I am there," he said when responding to Fury's initial call-out.

"I just want to fight, if you are a fighter you should fight everybody out there. It is just business it would be a great fight with Tyson. I have respect for Tyson and his family but if he wants to fight and if he doesn't I want to fight Deontay Wilder."

Fury is currently also in talks with Icelandic strongman Thor Bjornsson over an exhibition fight in November, which could see Chisora miss out on a trilogy if the deal is pulled off. The 'Gypsy King' will then likely wait to see if Anthony Joshua defeats Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch.
