Derek Chisora has claimed he will continue to fight on despite picking up his thirteenth career defeat in a one-sided beatdown by Tyson Fury.
'WAR' Chisora was given a unique opportunity to fight for the WBC heavyweight title against former two-time rival Fury at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However events unfolded exactly as expected in the ring, with Fury dominant from the opening bell and coasting to a tenth round stoppage victory.
The challenger sustained significant damage in the ring with the referee taking a look at Chisora for several rounds before the stoppage, with the Briton refusing to give in. And it appears he will continue with the same attitude despite facing calls to retire from several people inside the sport.
He told Seconds Out after the fight: "No not yet, not yet. F*** that s***. I'm gonna take time out, chill, relax and see how I feel I'm not going out like this. I want to go on the road now for more fights. We will see I don't know yet. I enjoyed it."
Chisora was frequently implored to retire following his third consecutive defeat which came against Joseph Parker in their rematch. However he refused to give in and accepted a fight with Kubrat Pulev which he won back in July in arguably a career-best display.
He then elected to call out Deontay Wilder who is considered arguably the most powerful puncher in the division, before being offered this trilogy by Fury as a "payday" to thank him for their long-term friendship. It ended as expected last night in London, with Chisora showing off facial swelling and closed up eyes after taking a brutal beating.

Fury was vocal about Chisora following the fight and would personally like to see Chisora hang up his gloves, and believes his rival has nothing else left to do in the sport. "I know where Derek is coming from right now, I can't speak for any other man, I can't make decisions for anybody," Fury said at the post-fight press conference.
"Derek will make his own decisions. Because he's a legend of this game. In British boxing he's like a folk hero... For me, I'd love to see him retire. Who wouldn't tune in for Derek's fights? People love him and he is always entertaining and always gives his all. He is a good fighting man for sure and he has been around for so long."
It is unclear where Chisora would go if he does decide to fight on, having now suffered a thirteenth career defeat and being a long way from the big names in the sport rankings wise. Those around him will need to help him make a decision, with Chisora having now served the sport for over 15 years as a professional.
