Tyson Fury couldn’t pass up the opportunity to goad Anthony Joshua whilst facing off with Derek Chisora, but ‘War’ made sure to stick up for his friend by questioning Fury’s comments.
Heavyweight champion Fury, 34, faced off with Chisora in London after it was announced the pair will meet in a trilogy fight on December 3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Fury promised he was retired from boxing after knocking out Dillian Whyte in April, but made a U-turn by negotiating a fight with Joshua.
‘AJ’ accepted terms set out by Fury’s team for the fight but missed his rival’s proposed deadline, which led to ‘The Gypsy King’ pursuing a trilogy fight with Chisora instead.
Fury outpointed Chisora to win the British title over a decade ago, stopping him in their 2013 rematch in another one-sided fight. During the pair’s face-off for their third fight, Fury said Chisora has more guts than Joshua but ‘WAR’ stood up for the former two-time champion.

“I knew you’d take it, I knew you were going to take the fight. You have showed up the bodybuilder, you have showed him up.”
Chisora then said: “No no no, listen. Let me tell you something. You’ve got so much bipolar over AJ. Just chill out, leave him alone. He will fight you.”
Fury then labelled Joshua as a “coward” by replying: “The man’s a coward and I’m just going to keep torturing him until he actually gets the balls to fight. He won’t fight, that’s why you’ve stepped in.”
Chisora, who signed with Joshua’s management company 258 last September, rebounded from a three-fight losing skid by winning a hard-fought decision against Kubrat Pulev in July.
The 38-year-old has previously defended Joshua after being criticised by radio presenter Simon Jordan following his two losses to unified champion Oleksandr Usyk. Fury mocked Chisora for being managed by Joshua’s company by claiming that he wouldn’t take any of his fight purse if he was managing him.
“You should let me manage you,” Fury told Chisora. “I’m the man who got you this two million quid, me, not AJ. I’ll do it for free, I won’t take a tenner off of you because I like to help people out for nothing. Free or charge, for old times sake. Let me manage you." Fury concluded the face-off by accusing Chisora of being nervous as they stared each other down, stating: “I know you’re nervous, just calm down” only for Chisora to reply: “I’m not nervous. Get the f*** out of here. A man like me don’t get nervous boy.”
