Derek Barnett heading to Houston after being claimed off waivers by the Texans

The Derek Barnett era is over in Philadelphia and set to begin in Houston, as the Texans have claimed the former Eagles pass rusher off waivers.

The Texans made that move official and waived kicker Matt Ammendola, who missed a potential 58-yard game-tying field goal Sunday and a 50-yard kick, to free up a roster move. According to Aaron Wilson, Amendola is expected to rejoin the Texans on their practice squad.

Drafted 14th overall in the 2017 NFL draft, Barnett has recorded 150 career tackles, 21 1/2 sacks, 37 tackles for losses, and 76 quarterback hits during his tenure in Philadelphia.
