The 245th running of the Epson Derby takes place this afternoon.
Along with the likes of the Grand National and Cheltenham, the event is one of the enduring annual highlights of the British horse racing calendar and the main event of the two-day festival in Surrey.
City of Troy, ridden by Ryan Moore, is the favourite for this year’s Derby as trainer Aidan O’Brien seeks his 10th career victory in the famous race, though saw his unbeaten run come to an emphatic halt with a shock ninth-placed finish in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month.
There could be multiple rivals for glory on Saturday, including the likes of Los Angeles, Ancient Wisdom, Ambiente Friendly and Dancing Gemini.
