Depop is opening a Night Market in London this month, allowing fans of the online resale platform to experience buying from their favourite sellers in person.
The event will encourage the city’s fashionistas to engage in festival trends sustainably, by shopping vintage and handmade clothing rather than fast fashion.
Taking place later in May, the Night Market is a chance for fashion fans to refresh their wardrobes ahead of festival season.
Major Depop resellers, including PascaleEliza and bensbits, will feature their unique edits, in trend-led market zones based on this summer’s festival trends: Alien Waters, Romantic Grunge, Exaggerated Minimalism and Sports Remix.
Other sellers who’ll also be in attendance include byeanna, shopvivien, karakoa, youthclubstore, att_a_Gril, and marieyoung.
The market will offer shoppers the chance to buy vintage and handmade pieces, as well as take part in interactive activities like photo moments, nail art and tooth gems, screen printing, and the opportunity to make their own phone beads.
Furthermore, Foundation FM, a female-led community radio station, has curated a lineup of DJs, including Eliza Rose, P-rallel, Saint Ludo and Vanessa Maria, with special guest headliners to be announced.
Havana Club has partnered with Depop of the Night Market event to provide fans with authentic Cuban drinks while they shop.
The Night Market will take place on Thursday, May 25, from 7pm until midnight, at 26 Leake Street, Waterloo. Tickets are free and can be reserved via Eventbrite.
The first ticket release sold out, so it’s sure to be a popular event. Keep your eyes peeled for the second ticket release if you’d like to attend Depop’s Night Market.
Depop has more than 30 million users across 150 countries. It was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in London. In 2021, Depop became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Etsy and continues to operate as a standalone company.
