Departing EastEnders star Danielle Harold wants to pinch wedding dress from set

EastEnders star Danielle Harold plans to pinch her character’s wedding dress when she leaves – in case she never gets married.

The 30-year-old, who plays tragic Lola Pearce in the BBC soap, has told how she has her eye on the outfit, as well as a couple of wedding snaps.

She will appear in Albert Square for the last time on Wednesday, when Lola sadly loses her brain tumour battle. Asked if she plans to take any keepsakes from Walford, Danielle replied: “Whatever I can fit up my jumper! I really want the Queen Vic bust. I’m going to take Lola’s wedding dress.

“I’ve got a nice big wedding day picture and I’m single, so it’s questionable with it up on the wall. [But] I might not ever have a wedding day!” Danielle, who has been in EastEnders since 2011, has agreed a marriage pact with co-star Jamie Borthwick, 28, who plays her on-screen hubby Jay Brown.

Jamie said: “We say, if me and Danielle aren’t married by the age of 30, we’re going to get married.”

Laughing, Danielle chipped in: “We said 40!” The pair spoke about the emotional toll Lola’s final scenes took on the entire soap cast.

Jamie said: “It was very tough. It was very respectful on set and we had a lovely crew. There were a lot of tears.”

And Perry Fenwick, who plays Lola’s on-screen grandad Billy Mitchell, said tear sticks to make the actors weep were not needed.

He added: “It was hard not to cry before you’re meant to cry.”
