The agent of Denzel Dumfries says she hopes her client’s valuation does not increase too much after the World Cup, fearing that it will hamper a potential move elsewhere.
The right-back has been linked with a move to Manchester United, who are in need of competition for Diogo Dalot. The Portugal full-back has played every game he has been available for this season.
His game has grown under Erik ten Hag, but the United boss faces a sticky situation if he were to get injured with no favoured back-up. With Aaron Wan-Bissaka outcasted, Tyrell Malacia was required to fill in at right-back in the 2-1 win over Fulham before the break.

Dumfries is a name that has been frequently linked with a move to Old Trafford despite his Inter Milan contract not expiring until 2025. The Dutchman has had a terrific World Cup, keeping two clean sheets before providing two assists and a goal in the 3-1 last-16 win over the United States on Saturday.
United could dip into the market for a right-back in January and links with Dumfries are sure to increase in the new year, as will perhaps his price tag. However, his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has admitted this wouldn’t be ideal.
When asked by Sky Sport Italia if his valuation would rise post-World Cup, she said: “Let's hope not, otherwise it would be more difficult to transfer him!” A number of other clubs are said to be interested in her player, including Chelsea.
In September, Dumfries said he took the speculation as a positive, although stayed coy on any potential move. He said: “The interest flatters me, of course but my focus is only on Inter. We want to win the Scudetto because we lost it last season."
The wing-back has scored twice and recorded three assists in 20 outings for Inter so far this season.
