Denver Police arrest two men connected to Josh Reynolds shooting

Denver Police have arrested two men in connection to the Josh Reynolds shooting last week.

Police arrested Burr Charlesworth, 42, on Oct. 19 and Luis Mendoza, 35, on Oct. 22, less than a week after the Oct. 18 shooting. The two suspects “are being held for investigation of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault,” according to KDVR’s Heather Willard.

Further suspects may be identified later.

Reynolds and two other men were followed after they left a club early in the morning of Oct. 18. Two of them suffered non-life-threatening injuries when shot. Reynolds was shot in his arm and the back of his head, but the Denver Broncos said in a statement that his injuries were “minor.”

Reynolds, 29, was already back at practice this week working on a side field with other injured players. Reynolds is currently on injured reserve while recovering from a finger injury.

“Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries,” the team said in a statement. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”

Reynolds hauled in 12 receptions for 183 yards and one touchdown in five games this season before being placed on IR.
