Broncos acquire TE Adam Trautman in draft trade with Saints

The Denver Broncos have traded their second pick of the sixth round (195th overall) in the 2023 NFL draft to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for tight end Adam Trautman and a seventh-round pick (257th overall).

Trautman (6-5, 253 pounds) is a three-year veteran of the Saints, who caught 18 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown in 2022. In his 43-game career, he has caught 60 passes for 641 yards and four touchdowns. In 2022, Trautman started 15 games for New Orleans, a team that was going through a quarterback crisis last season.

Trautman reunites with head coach Sean Payton in Denver, who came over during the 2023 offseason in exchange for a first-round pick.

This is the second offensive weapon the Broncos have acquired in the 2023 NFL draft overall, alongside University of Oklahoma receiver Marvin Mims. This will give quarterback Russell Wilson an additional weapon and red zone target to use in his second year in Denver.
