A dentist appeared on Lorraine today to give her best tips for how to get an appointment for dental care.
Currently, people across the UK are struggling to get a dentist appointment after more than 2,000 dentists quit the NHS last year, according to recent data obtained by the Association of Dental Groups. As a result more people are having to register with private practices meaning that they are paying higher costs.
Speaking to ITV host Christine Lampard, Dr Surina Sehgal advised of the best way to get a dental appointment. She also guided people to get dental insurance to help cut costs.

The dentist said that anyone in dental pain should keep ringing up their dentist as they "may get lucky" and get an appointment. If they fails then she suggested calling 111 to see what they advise and if they can get you an emergency appointment if needed.
Dr Seghal said people should also get dental insurance as it is "really important" due to it covering the costs of private dental work. She said otherwise it can be very expensive and the insurance can save people thousands as well as helping them to get an appointment easier.
Christine said about how TikTok DIY dental trends are becoming more popular. The Dr said: "If you see something on an online trend you should ask your dentist if it is ok to use it. Never use a product for your teeth if it hasn't been advised."
The dentist also said to use an electric toothbrush to prevent overly scrubbing your teeth. She said while they are more expensive they are worth it in the long run.
