Colorado prosecutors have brought forth new charges against a dentist, James Craig, who is accused of fatally poisoning his wife, Angela Craig. The dentist, a father of six, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and other charges related to his wife's death in 2023. Prosecutors revealed in court that Craig allegedly attempted to solicit the killing of a detective and three others.
During a recent court hearing, prosecutors disclosed that Craig faces new felony charges of solicitation to commit murder and solicitation to commit perjury. In a letter from jail, Craig mentioned a detective involved in his case, expressing the need to discredit her. He allegedly tried to persuade a fellow inmate to carry out the murder plot.
Furthermore, Craig's former attorney withdrew from the case citing professional conduct rules after allegations surfaced of Craig plotting to kill an Aurora detective. The coroner's report indicated that Angela Craig died from poisoning, with cyanide and tetrahydrozoline identified as lethal substances.

Prosecutors presented evidence of Craig's attempts to fabricate evidence and solicit help from individuals to support a false narrative. Despite defense arguments of investigative errors, the judge ruled in favor of prosecutors, allowing the solicitation charges to proceed to trial.
The next hearing for the case is scheduled for April 7, with jury selection set to commence on July 10.
