Actor Dennis Waterman has died at the age of 74, his family has confirmed.
His family confirmed the UK actor passed away peacefull with his wife, Pam at his side.
A statement read: “We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved Dennis, passed away very peacefully at his home in Spain.
"The family kindly ask that our privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”
Waterman found fame for his role in the BBC drama, William.
He then went on to become one of the best-know faces on British TV detective sergeant George Carter opposite John Thaw in ITV’s police drama The Sweeney.
Waterman then played the role of Terry McCann between 1979 to 1994 in Minder.
Later in his career Waterman then landed a role on New Tricks which ran from 2003 to 2015.
Following his death, Matt Lucas paid tribute to the actor, saying: “I grew up watching Dennis Waterman's iconic performances in The Sweeney and Minder.
