The New Orleans Saints picked up their second loss of the season to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4, by a score of 26-24. Part of the reason they struggled so much is that their biggest offensive weapon in the red zone, Taysom Hill, went down with what was announced as an abdomen injury. Hill was unable to return after halftime, which put the Saints in a tough position once they got near the end zone.
Dennis Allen shared clarification about the injury when asked if it was a re-aggravation of the previous chest injury (a bruised lung) Hill had: “No, it’s ribs on the other side.”
Allen was then asked how that injury impacted their chances of winning or changed the gameplan. He responded, “Well look, I mean you lose a player like that it affects you, but I still think we had enough guys on the field that could’ve made enough plays to give us a chance to win.”
We will get further clarification in the coming week as to what this injury really is, and he will have an extra day to recover as the Saints are scheduled for “Monday Night Football” against the Kansas City Chiefs next week.
