Denmark national team manager Brian Riemer has provided an update on the condition of Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
The 38-year-old was injured while playing for his country in a 5-2 defeat to Portugal on Sunday evening.
Doubts have resultantly been raised over Schmeichel's availability to turn out for his club against Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.
He has missed just one game for Celtic so far this season, although that number could soon become two, with Riemer stating that Schmeichel will undoubtedly be on the sidelines this weekend: "The status is that Kasper is injured," he told Danish TV channel Sport 2.

"And right now we are doing the in-depth studies, which should provide an indication of whether we are talking about a shorter, medium or long injury period. I don't think there is any doubt that he will not play this weekend.
"He has recovered quickly from injuries before. I know he is keen on that in this case, too, but he is injured and will be for the foreseeable future."
Schmeichel has been a key figure for his side in 2024/25 up to this point, although it looks like young backup goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo will be thrust into action against Hearts.
The 23-year-old has made just one Celtic appearance since joining the club last summer, which came in the Scottish Cup against Raith Rovers at the beginning of February.
A league debut now appears imminent for the Finn as Brendan Rodgers' men look to hone in on their fourth consecutive Premiership title.
